Materials: two yards of 7/8” satin acetate ribbon, one piece of floral wire or narrow ribbon, scissors.
Step 1: Create a loop of ribbon that is about 4 inches in diameter or equal to the diameter of the desired bow needed for your gift. Wrap ribbon around this loop about 12-15 times, each loop matching up snugly against the initial loop.
Step 2: Flatten the loops together and grab the center tightly in one hand. Make a triangular cut from one side of the ribbon pointing toward the center of the ribbon's width, being careful not to cut more than halfway across.
Step 3: Make a triangular cut from the other side of the ribbon, creating connected points in the center of the loop that resemble the shape of an hourglass.
Step 4: Tie a piece of narrow ribbon or floral wire tightly around the notched areas to secure the center of your bow. Leave enough extra ribbon to attach the bow to your gift.
Step 5: Separate the loops to form your bow by individually pulling apart the loops and twisting them toward the center tie. Pull toward alternating sides as you separate and twist the loops so that the bow is evenly distributed.
Step 6: Fluff the loops and arrange them evenly around the center tie. Form the bow to your desired shape.
Step 7: Attach the Pom Pom Bow to your gift using a piece of floral wire or the extra ribbon from the center tie. |
