Ribbon shoelaces are a great teaching tool for shoe-tying because they help make children excited about learning to tie their own shoes. Custom printed ribbon with a child's name or favorite hobby will generate even more excitement. Ribbon shoelaces are also a great way to show school spirit and personality. To make ribbon shoelaces, cut two pieces of printed ribbon that are each about one inch longer than your child's current shoelaces. Twist each end of the ribbon into a point and wrap them with a piece of tape. Thread the ribbon through the holes then use pinking scissors to trim the ends or carefully seal the ends with a lighter to prevent fraying. For threading purposes, we recommend using either 3/8" or 5/8" ribbon widths for your ribbon shoelaces. Our grosgrain ribbon and twill ribbon make excellent ribbon shoelaces.
