Materials: two yards of 7/8” Satin Acetate Ribbon, one piece of floral wire or narrow ribbon, scissors |

Step 1: Begin making the Aster Bow by forming a loop approximately 4 inches long. Snugly wind the ribbon directly around this loop about 12-15 times. |

Step 2: Grab the center of the loops tightly and cut a triangle-shaped notch from one side of the ribbon pointing toward the center, without cutting more than halfway across the width of the ribbon. Cut another triangle-shaped notch from the other side of the ribbon pointing inward so that the points of the notches line up but do not quite touch. These cuts should leave two connected points of ribbon. |

Step 3: Tightly tie a narrow piece of ribbon or floral wire around the center of the points to secure the loops in place.

Step 4: With the loops secure, make a small angled cut on the top right corner of one side of the loops, cutting toward the loop end. Cut through only the top half of the loops in the bundle. Do not cut all the way through. There should now be sharp pointed ends sticking out of the bundle. |

Step 5: Now make the same cut on the other half of the loops. To do this, turn the loop 180 degrees and make a small angled cut on the top right corner of the loops, again only cutting through the top half of loops. There should now be sharp points sticking out of opposite sides of the loop bundle. |

Step 6: Create the bow by individually separating the loops beginning with the innermost loop. As you do this, twist the loop toward you at its base. Separate the next loop by twisting away from you. Repeat this process, alternating the direction of the twist, until the bow is formed. |

Step 7: Fan out the bow and form it to your desired shape. |

Step 8: Attach the bow to your gift using double-sided tape or extra ribbon from the center tie of the bow. |
Tips:
- Don’t be overwhelmed by the Aster Bow. It is actually only a variation of the basic Pom Pom Bow.
- Make a two-colored Aster Bow by beginning with two colors of ribbon. Hold the two ribbons together as you wind the loops, winding half as many times as you would with a single ribbon.
- Use Double Face Satin Ribbon for a shinier bow.
