Choosing a Location

Choosing a Location

PrintMyRibbon is committed to providing you with useful information and ideas for planning corporate events. When planning corporate events, it is important to select an appropriate location. Determine whether the event is formal or informal, an approximation of attendees, and most importantly who your guests are. Work within your budget to find a location that will suit your needs. If you choose an outdoor location, such as a park, reserve an alternative indoor location in case of inclement weather.

Another factor to consider in choosing a location is whether the hall or arena provides catering and staff to work the event. If possible, the location of the event should be relatively proximate to your guests, especially in the case that alcoholic beverages are available. Choosing the right location is an important factor in determining the success of your corporate events.

  • Remember to give your guests ample notice of your event. We suggest giving attendees at least a month’s notice so as to avoid calendar conflicts.
  • Choose an arena that is appropriate for the occasion. Determine how many guests will be in attendance and then try to choose a venue. Excessive and constricting space creates discomfort amongst guests.
  • Work with the venue staff to determine what décor is included and what parameters you can work within to further enhance the aesthetic experience of your guests. Make sure you are permitted items such as candles or outside visual/audio equipment.
  • Consult our event planning checklist for a helpful guide.
